Earthquake hits Haiti

As you know the devastation is horrific. The needs are so vast and great. We would like to do our part to help. On our last trip to Haiti we sponsored a small orphanage called Loving Hands Centre in Turbe Haiti which cares for 13 children.
Thankfully, all 13 children are safe and unharmed. The Orphanage had small damage.
The School which is on the same property is demolished. The Church is being used as a shelter for the displaced. The medical clinic which is located in the village has been damaged as well.
We are asking for donations to help rebuild. We are also trying to set up teams to Go and Help with the effort. All Contributions should go to Perryville Bible Church, 220 Moonstone Beach Rd. Wakefield Rhode Island 02879 in Care of Loving Hands Orphanage. Thank you, Daniel

A message from Mama Luc

During my last trip to Haiti , May 2009 ,The Lord convicted my heart to help 13 children at an orphanage called the Center of Loving Hands . The orphanage was founded by Pastor Jean Siliac and his wife Yvette .

The orphanage is located in Turbe’ Croix des Bouquets . The orphanage was forced to go from 20 children to 13 children and fear of closing when God had us happen along . After much prayer five godly men and myself returned to the orphanage to give our helping hands to the children .

While we were there rooms were painted and a foundation for an addition was put into place . There are many needs at the orphanage . The immediate need is to complete the addition with a tin roof and continue the tin roof over the adjunct building ,which is the kitchen for the orphanage . Also another immediate need ,the children need medical attention as well as future follow ups to the clinic .Short term vision of the team are to provide new mattresses and bedding , a cement roof , computer lab for the children , and to fix a well that is on the property of the orphanage , to mention a few . Long term vision is a cement roof , a irrigation system ,utilizing the well to irrigate fruit trees and garden produce This will allow the orphanage to eat off the land and sell some of the fruits of the gardens and in time be self supporting. (With God all things are possible }

Our greatest Joy was to interact with the children and just Love them . It was difficult to leave but with Gods Grace we hope to return. Haiti Medical team May 2009, over 1100 patients were treated in 10 days !!

May 2009
24 people from 5 Rhode Island churches saw over 1100 people for medical attention. We not only treated the physical but hopefully we planted seeds of Gods grace and his love for us to the people we touched. Things didn't quite the way we planed, but everything worked out better then we could have imagined. Hey ! It's Haiti !!
